US sues Adobe for hiding termination charges and making it tough to cancel subscriptions

The U.S. Division of Justice has filed a lawsuit in opposition to Adobe alleging that the corporate deceives shoppers by hiding the early-termination payment and making it tough for folks to cancel their subscriptions.

The federal government says Adobe pushed shoppers towards the “annual paid month-to-month” subscription with out informing them that canceling the plan within the first yr would price tons of of {dollars}.

Adobe solely discloses the early-termination charges when subscribers try to cancel, and that it turns the early-termination payment right into a “highly effective retention device” by trapping shoppers in subscriptions that they not need, the grievance says.
